Well I see that you that many of us want a rank system so I’m going to share this…
I also understand that you all don’t want to be ranked solely on points…
Personally I agree because:

1 ) It causes depression [“I played 3 weeks and I’m still at the same rank” ]
2 ) It causes jealousy [“We started at the same time and he/she is 4 ranks above me”]
3 ) Jealousy causes competition [We become opponents not family]
4 ) Possible destruction of alliance [Due to above reasons +more]

Now what my alliance does is we are broken into wings…
But we don’t split…Our ranks just change corresponding to our wing…
This is good because:

1 ) More organized
2 ) Stay together

Our wings are as follows…

1 ) New Recruit Wing - Obviously for the new members, spend TWO WEEKS then move up…Registering to forum is REQUIRED.
2 ) Training Wing – Members who are new to Ogame, so we know who needs help. ONE MONTH in here.
3 ) Base Wing – This is for the members that like to chill out and play their own way ^^.
4 ) Trade Wing – Members who trade a lot and grow this way… (Other wings are allowed to trade as well)
5 ) Defense Wing – Who will help defend other members when needed (i.e. resources)
6 ) Elite Wing – Active Members that attack a lot.
7 ) Vacation Wing – Members that are in vacation mode.
8 ) Combat Wing – Members who will be the first to help in case of a war or threat.

So this is the breakdown that we have more or less…
If you want to make changes hey you’re the boss…
And as you say we can always VOTE on it.
